English-Speaking Osteopath in Berlin

We are a practice of osteopaths in Berlin-Charlottenburg, and we treat in English. If you live in Berlin and would rather describe what hurts in your own language than hunt for the German word for it, you are in the right place.

What osteopathy is

Osteopathy is a manual, holistic form of medicine. It was founded more than 150 years ago in the United States by the physician Dr Andrew Taylor Still, and rests on a simple idea: the structures of the body and their function cannot be separated, and every person carries within them the forces needed to maintain their own health.

Movement — of every structure in the body, down to the most subtle — is one of the foundations of life. Where that movement becomes restricted, complaints follow. An osteopath works with their hands: locating those restrictions and helping to release them. Diagnosis and treatment rest on a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology, and on treating each patient as a whole rather than as a set of symptoms.

We practise classical osteopathy and treat adults as well as children and babies.

Who we are

Osteopaths, Heilpraktiker and physiotherapists, all with many years of professional experience. Heilpraktiker is a role specific to the German health system: a state-licensed practitioner permitted to treat patients without being a physician.

Because we have lived and worked in other countries and cultures ourselves, we know the difficulties that come with it first-hand. Being able to describe personal matters and physical complaints in your own language changes the conversation entirely — which is why we are glad to offer treatment in more than one.

Making an appointment

Appointments are made by phone. If you want to ask about costs, or whether your insurance covers osteopathic treatment, please ask when you call.

We also treat in Spanish — see Osteópata en Berlín .

The rest of this website is in German: Osteopathie (about osteopathy), Team (about us) and Kontakt , which has a contact form.
